The purpose of this Performance Test is to verify the design intent of main façade systems to be used in “Fuse Mobius, Condolette Ize, and U Delight” building project.The performance test was conducted at Kaskal Façade Testing Centre in 342 Moo 7, Sukhumvit Road Km. 35, Bangpoomai, Muang Samutprakarn, Thailand (10280). The test facility is leased by Frametek Window and Door Co., Ltd. as the façade contractor. In order to ensure that tests are conducted in compliance to ASTM standards for testing, Thammasat University Research and Consultancy Institute (TU-RAC) is nominated to supervise and evaluate the tests as the Independent Testing Consultant. The tests were conducted to evaluate water and air tightness and structural performance of the façade specimen in accordance with ASTM standard procedures for testing and also under the similar installation conditions of the actual building façade. The full scale test specimen was constructed in accordance with the approved shop drawings and was tested independently. The test results found that the air leakages of sliding door and casement window with fixed frame were less than the allowable values. Therefore, sliding door and casement window with fixed frame passed the criteria of the air infiltration test. The test results also found that sliding door and casement window with fixed frame passed the criteria of the water penetration test. In addition, the defections of mullion, transom, and glass of all test specimens under +/- 2.0 kPa design wind load were less than the allowable values. Therefore, sliding door and casement window with fixed frame passed the criteria of the structural performance test. Finally, the results from the structural safety confirmation test (proof load test) for frame and glass components show that no permanent distortions or damages for sliding door and casement window with fixed frame were observed. Therefore, sliding door and casement window with fixed frame passed the proof load test for +/- 3.0 kPa. |
